There's not much that I can say about this picture. My heart always beats faster at this time. If the trout with his tender mouth, can get any leverage at all he'll flip the hook and be gone.

I found this old trout fly in my tackle box and thought it would look good in this bigmouth bass's mouth. When I matted the original of this watercolor I also cut a small opening for the fly and mounted it below the painting. Looks cool.

It's fun teaching the young to fish but when they outfish you - that's not funny !

Commercial fishing is a major industry in Rhode Island. The largest fleet is located is located around Point Judith at Galilee.

I caught the Ocean Gypsy (out of Pt. Judith) on the wheys at a boatyard in Providence undergoing a Spring refitting.
